PPTAK Block Again ACT Account, Temporary Total There Are 300

JAKARTA - The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) has again blocked accounts related to the charity Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT). The temporary number reached 300 accounts from 41 financial service providers or banks.

"Currently PPATK has temporarily suspended transactions in 141 CIFs on more than 300 accounts owned by ACT spread across 41 financial service providers (PJK)", said PPATK Head, Ivan Yustiavandana, in his statement, Thursday, July 7.

Then, based on PPATK's search results, from 2014 to 2022, it was found that the flow of funds into and out of the charity was found. The nominal is in the billions.

"Based on transaction data to and from Indonesia for the period 2014 to July 2022 related to the ACT, it is known that there were incoming funds from abroad amounting to a total of IDR 64,946,453,924 and funds out of Indonesia amounting to a total of IDR 52,947,467,313", said Ivan.

Ivan reminded the public to be more vigilant when donating. Especially regarding the agency that became the distributor.

"Some things that people must pay attention to if they want to donate both online and in-person are getting to know the institution or community that does fundraising and donations", he said.

"The public can see the credibility of the institution or community through the Ministry of Social's database, whether it has been registered or not, as well as the names of the managers", continued Ivan.

The number of confiscated accounts also increased quite a lot. Because on the previous occasion there were only 60 accounts that were frozen. Dozens of these accounts are in 33 financial service providers or banks.

The suspension was carried out because the results of a temporary investigation of the flow of funds received by ACT from the community were not directly channeled as donations. Rather, it is managed on a business basis to make a profit.

"We suspect this is a transaction that is managed from business to business so that it is not purely collecting funds and then channeling it to the destination", said Ivan.
