Attending Bhayangkara Anniversary In Semarang, Prabowo Respects Jokowi And Meets Megawati

JAKARTA - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto met with the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri and a number of other figures. The second meeting took place when they attended the peak of the commemoration of the 76th anniversary of Bhayangkara at the Police Academy building, Semarang, Central Java.

Apart from meeting Megawati, Prabowo also met with other figures such as the 6th Vice President Try Sutrisno, the 9th Vice President Hamzah Haz, and the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents Jusuf Kalla.

According to a written statement, Prabowo greeted and shook hands with invited guests. The general chairman of the Gerindra Party also took a photo with Megawati and other invitees, including the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto.

Not only that, Prabowo also paid respects to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who served as the ceremony inspector. This moment occurred when Jokowi greeted the officials present.

In his speech, Jokowi wished the National Police a happy birthday. He also said that the authority of the National Police is very large because it is directly in contact with the people to reach the village.

"On behalf of the people of the nation and state, I wish you a happy 76th Bhayangkara Day and give appreciation for the hard work of the Police in serving the people in defending the nation and state," said Jokowi, Tuesday, July 5.

In addition, President Jokowi asked the National Police to continue to adapt to technological advances. The goal is to be able to deal with crimes that are currently growing.

"We must be more prepared to face the threat of crime based on the latest technology," he said.
