3 Thiefs From Jember Who Deceived Elderly Victims With The Lure Of Social Assistance In Samarinda Arrested
SAMARINDA - The Jatanras Satreskrim Unit of the Samarinda Police, East Kalimantan, arrested three perpetrators of heavy theft who targeted the victims, people who were old or elderly with the lure of social assistance (bansos).
"The perpetrators brought their victims, who were mostly old, were called into the car and taken around. After that, the victim was influenced by the lure of being given social assistance. After the victim was tricked, the victim's valuables were immediately taken and the victim was dropped off on the street," he said. The three perpetrators from Jember, East Java, are known to have the initials S (48), SS (36), and MS (44) having their respective roles in carrying out their actions.
"Some are drivers (car drivers), some are in charge of influencing the victim or gendam and another is in charge of taking valuables belonging to the victim," he explained.
Ary said the action took place on Wednesday (29/6) at around 14.30 WITA on Jalan Ulin, Sungai Kunjang District, Samarinda. It started when a group of perpetrators offered social assistance from inside the car, then the victim was taken into a car and searched.
Furthermore, the cellphone in the victim's pocket was taken by the perpetrator and the perpetrator ordered the victim to get out of the car and leave the victim at the crime scene (TKP.
The evidence that was secured by the police was one Vivo Y12 S mobile phone along with IDR 1,800,000 in cash.
The three perpetrators face up to 9 years in prison in accordance with Article 363 of the Criminal Code.
