Official! Manchester City Signs Calvin Phillips From Leeds United For IDR 818 Billion
JAKARTA - Manchester City has officially signed Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips. The 26-year-old player is tied to a six-year contract.
Manchester City brought in the England international for 45 million pounds, equivalent to IDR 818 billion.
"I am very happy to be joining Manchester City. The city has again proven themselves as the best team in the country", said Phillips.
Calvin Phillips is the Citizens' third signing this summer. Previously, the reigning English Premier League champions had brought in Erling Haaland and Stefan Ortega Moreno.
The player, who made 235 appearances over eight seasons at Elland Road, actually still has two years remaining on his Leeds contract. However, Manc City's interest made it difficult for him to refuse. Moreover, this club is coached by Pep Guardiola.

He was also a key player under coach Marcelo Bielsa while still at Leeds. During his time at the club, he played 37 times in the Championship in the 2019/2020 season when Leeds was promoted to the Premier League after a 16-year absence.
