Lack Of Specialist Doctors, DPRD Asks For Central Assistance For Riau Islands Hospital

KEPRI - Commission IV of the Riau Islands Province DPRD (Kepri) stated that the Raja Ahmad Tabib Regional General Hospital (RSUD) needs the support of the state budget/central government to improve the quality of public health services.

"The role of the regional government and DPRD should be maximized to access the health budget sourced from the APBN, so that our hospital needs are met," said Deputy Chairman of Commission IV of the Riau Islands DPRD, Sirajuddin Nur in Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands, Friday July 1.

According to him, one of the obstacles that the Riau Islands Provincial Government is still facing is the limited number of medical equipment for certain medical procedures, including the number of specialist doctors.

However, his party can understand that these limitations are due to the lack of local government budgets.

He confirmed that Commission IV and the Riau Islands Provincial Health Office this year will meet with the Ministry of Health to discuss the development of the Raja Ahmad Tabib Hospital, in particular the budget support for health equipment.

"Regarding the need for specialist doctors, which are indeed very limited in number for certain medical diseases, we suggest taking additional policies of special incentives for specialist doctors at the Raja Ahmad Tabib Hospital," he said.

Furthermore, he conveyed how important it is to improve the quality of health services at the Raja Ahmad Tabib Hospital for all members of the community.

This is considering, he said, the customer satisfaction index at the hospital was at 78.6 percent. Plus its status as one of the referral hospitals and has been fully accredited.

Commission IV, he continued, will continue to encourage the Raja Ahmad Tabib Hospital, which is located in the center of government in Tanjungpinang City, to strive to increase its capacity to be the best in terms of medical services for Riau Islands residents.

"Commission IV is ready to provide maximum support to the Raja Ahmad Tabib Hospital in overcoming the limitations of health services," he said.
