Megawati Orders Cadres To Fly The PDIP Flag At Half Mast In Final Respect For Tjahjo Kumolo

JAKARTA - PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri ordered all cadres to party sympathizers to fly the PDIP flag at half-mast in party offices.

Megawati's instructions were disclosed by the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto. This respect with the party protocol was carried out to pay last respects to Tjahjo as a senior PDIP politician.

"Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri gave directions to all party cadres, members and sympathizers to pay the best respect to the deceased by flying the PDI-P flag at half-mast in Party offices," Hasto said in a statement, Friday, July 1.

In Megawati's eyes, said Hasto, Tjahjo was one of the party's best cadres. Tjahjo is seen as a legendary figure because he was a member of the DPR RI for six terms, became Secretary General of the PDI-P in the 2010-2015 period, until he was trusted as Minister of Home Affairs and MenPAN RB.

"The deceased was also a figure who was loyal to accompanying Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri. I was taught by Mas Tjahjo that being dedicated to Mrs. Megawati must use the inner nature and a clear mind, full of honesty and loyalty," said Hasto.

It was previously reported that Menpan RB Tjahjo Kumolo died at Abdi Waluyo Hospital, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday afternoon, at 11.10 WIB, after undergoing intensive treatment at the hospital since mid-June.

Tjahjo Kumolo will be buried militarily at the Kalibata Main National Heroes Cemetery (TMPNU). Before being buried, it is planned that Tjahjo's body will be buried at his official residence, Jalan Widya Chandra, South Jakarta.
