The Importance Of The Principle Of Sovereignty And Regional Integrity In Front Of Zelensky, President Jokowi: I Will Convey The Desire For Peace To Putin

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo handed over an invitation to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to personally attend the G20 summit, when the two countries' leaders meet on Wednesday.

"I extend an invitation to President Zelensky to personally attend the G20 Summit which will be held in Bali in November 2022," said President Jokowi in a joint press statement after meeting with President Zelensky, launching Interfax June 30.

"It is very important for all countries to pay attention to the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity," President Jokowi continued.

President Jokowi also underlined the need for peaceful conflict resolution. The president said he would soon meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and express his desire for peace.

"I will soon meet with President Putin, and I will also convey our wish for peace to him," said President Jokowi.

It is known that President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana and their entourage arrived in Ukraine on Wednesday morning at around 08.50 local time, after traveling for approximately 11 hours, by taking the Extraordinary Train (KLB) from Poland.

After visiting the settlements affected by the Russian attack in Irpin and health facilities as well as handing over humanitarian aid in Kyiv, President Jokowi went straight to the Maryinsky Palace, Kyiv. He was greeted by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the entrance, upon arrival at around 15:00 local time.

After the meeting with President Zelensky, President Jokowi and his entourage are scheduled to return to Poland directly using the KLB in the afternoon.
