Used To Have 8 Billion XRP, Now Former Ripple Official Jed MacCaleb Only Has 103 Million Coins

JAKARTA – Former Ripple CTO Jed McCaleb has reportedly reduced his XRP holdings. As is known, McCaleb left Ripple and founded Stellar Lumens (XLM), which is a rival to XRP. While Ripple's CTO McCaleb received 8 billion XRP in compensation for leaving Ripple in 2014.

Based on data from a site dedicated to monitoring McCaleb's XRP balance, Jed Balance, the former Ripple CTO currently has only 103 million XRP left in his wallet.

McCaleb himself has stated that he will sell his XRP according to a set schedule. He has sold his XRP from 2014 to 2019 for one billion XRP.

After that, he continued his sell-off until now there is only 103 million XRP left out of a total of 8 billion coins. Jed McCaleb currently has that amount of XRP remaining in his wallet, according to the website that monitors McCaleb's balances, jed.tequ.dev.

He is expected to run out in 28, 26, or 30 days, depending on how quickly he sells his remaining XRP coins. McCaleb's XRP balance monitoring website only shows his current remaining holdings and doesn't detect how much he sells his XRP on a regular basis.

As of writing, Ripple's price is trading at IDR 5,392. Its price in the last 24 hours fell 1.8%, while in the past week the price of XRP has increased 11.6% based on data from Coingecko.
