COVID-19 Update As Of June 24: Continues To Rise, Today 2,069 New Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 76,993 specimens were examined with the results of 2,069 new positive cases of COVID-19. The day before, there were 1,097 new cases.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,076,894 and active cases have increased by 1,066 to 13,214", said Ministry of Health data, Friday, June 24.

Today's recovered cases increased by 998 people, bringing the total to 5,906,969 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 5 cases and totaled 156,711 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 1,266 cases and a total of 1,263,164 cases. Followed by West Java with 331 new cases with a total of 1,110,069 cases. Banten with 242 new cases and a total of 295,755 cases. East Java with 83 new cases and a total of 577,517 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 669 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 119 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 89 recovered cases, and West Java with an additional 56 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 100,384,534.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 2.04 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 4,436 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 201,296,746 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 168,660,974 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 49,543,811. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
