If you're looking for something on Google, Wikipedia is one of the sources that the tech giants of time use to fill in information.
Google can be said to be a major customer of Wikimedia Enterprise. In addition to Google, there is also the Internet Archive which is also a customer of the service.
While not paying for content like Google, the Internet Archive, which runs a site called the Wayback Machine, which stores snapshots of websites and is used to fix Wikipedia links, will be offered commercial services free of charge.
"Wikimedia Enterprise is designed to meet a variety of content sourcing and reuse needs, and our first two customers are prime examples of this," said Lane Becker, Senior Director of Web Earnings from the Wikimedia Foundation.
Becker also said, Google and the Internet Archive use Wikimedia content in very different ways. Good to help substantiate the results of a knowledge panel or maintain a citation on Wikipedia.
