PSG Will Launch NFT, Promoted By Mandopop Star Jay Chou Collaborating With Messi And Neymar
JAKARTA – French football club, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) plans to launch its own NFT and metaverse. This information was announced by PSG on Sunday 19 June yesterday.
To promote its NFT, PSG hired MandoPop star Jay Chou. In the promotional video, PSG stars such as Lionel Messi and Neymar appear with Chou. For information, mandopop is a subgenre of Chinese music, C-Pop.
PSG has uploaded an Instagram post with the caption “NFT Drop Coming Soon.” In the video, Chou gives a leaked preview of NFT's digital artwork that combines Chou's unique design style with the PSG mascot.
For information, Chou is one of Asia's top pop singers who starred in "The Green Hornet" and "Now You See Me 2". He is also one of the most streamed Asian artists on Spotify. Chou's popularity is so great that last month's online concert alone was viewed more than 100 million times.
Chou has also dived into NFT. This is evidenced by the sale of a collection of NFT gloves that sold US$10.7 million at the leading auction house Shoteby's in 2021. Currently the Mandopop star is collaborating with PSG for the promotional video for NFT and the club metaverse.
