Change The Names Of Dozens Of Jakarta Streets To Names Of Betawi Figures, Anies Guarantees It Won't Be Difficult For Residents

JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta has changed the names of dozens of streets in the capital with the names of Betawi figures. Anies guarantees that this name change will not make it difficult for residents.

This is because, he said, the DKI Provincial Government has discussed the plan to determine the name with related parties such as the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Regional Office (Kanwil) of the DKI Jakarta National Land Agency (BPN), and related regional apparatus.

This coordination was carried out in anticipation of the impact of changing street names on various population administration documents, property ownership, and ownership of motorized vehicles in the community.

"This road name change has been discussed with the police, BPN, Dukcapil Service and gradually it can be with a new name. This is part of our effort to be able to jointly make this change not difficult, it makes it easier," said Anies at the inauguration of the determination of street names in Setu Babakan, South Jakarta, Monday, June 20.

Anies views that the lives of these Betawi figures have been donated for progress. According to him, the contribution of the Betawi people to the strong knot of the Indonesian nationality is quite large.

"Behind the majesty of a city, there is a knot of unity and this knot cannot possibly grow if it is not facilitated by the Betawi people. Therefore, Indonesia has a big debt of gratitude to the Betawi people because in this place the weaving of nationality is woven by the warmth of the Betawi people who welcome us. all from various regions of Indonesia with equality," said Anies.

In addition, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Culture Service, Iwan Henry Wardhana, said that the DKI Provincial Government will continue the process of changing the name of the road on roads that have a fairly long span in the future. He claims this will make the address search system easier.

"The change of address is planned to use the names of national heroes/figures, so that the roads in DKI Jakarta can become a civilization museum not only on a local scale, but also on a national scale," said Iwan.
