Alhamdulillah, All Omicron BA.4 And BA.5 Patients In Indonesia Are Declared Cured
JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Mohammad Syahril, said all patients of the Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants in Indonesia were declared cured.
This was conveyed by Syahril in a virtual dialogue entitled "Beware, Omicron is back lurking in Indonesia" broadcast on the FMB9 YouTube account, Thursday, June 16. Syahril said that 20 Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 patients were declared cured after experiencing mild symptoms.
"Except for one 20-year-old female patient in Jakarta who complained of shortness of breath, so it was categorized as moderate pain", he said.
He said that until June 14, 2022, the total number of Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 cases that have been identified has reached 20 cases. With details, two cases were infected with BA.4 and 18 cases were exposed to BA.5.
Based on the domicile, said Syahril, three foreign nationals (WNA) are in Bali and the rest are Indonesian citizens (WNI) each in Banten one person, Jakarta four people, West Java 12 people. Some patients have not received a booster or booster dose injection.

Based on the severity, said Syahril, as many as 16 have mild symptoms and four others are asymptomatic. "The case in West Java is a family cluster of three", he said.
According to Syahril, as of today, all of these patients have been declared cured and can be sent home.
Syahril said the Ministry of Health was still collecting reports from the results of the Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) research from five provinces that were experiencing an increasing trend of cases to track the transmission of the virus from these recovered patients. The provinces in question are DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, and East Java.
According to Syahril, the government is obliged to check WGS so that all COVID-19 patients who are currently increasing are exposed to new subvariants or old variants.
"This is done by WGS to make sure whether the patient has all of the BA.4, BA.5 or mixed subvariants", he said.
