PDIP Affirms High Electability Is Not The Main Factor To Be Promoted As A Presidential Candidate
JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P Hasto Kristiyanto emphasized that high electability is not the only benchmark for carrying out certain presidential candidates. There are things that are actually more important, namely enthusiasm.
"Although the electoral survey is high, there is no spirit, without what is called Mrs. Mega a burning of fire that is in the chest of every cadre then it is meaningless. So the most important thing is an elan struggle like a burning a fire," Hasto told reporters. at the Grand Paragon Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 14.
When asked whether the party bearing the bull symbol saw this enthusiasm in Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, Hasto said that this attitude actually existed in every PDIP cadre without exception.
"A party cadre without a fighting spirit is not a party cadre but a group," he said.
Not only talking about fighting spirit, Hasto said there are several other things that will be assessed by PDIP before carrying a certain name. Including whether or not they are able to carry out the mandate and how courageous they are in taking risks for the nation and state.
"The leader is observed how his performance, how his character. Commitment. How courageous in taking risks to the interests of the nation and state," he said.
"That is a process that is carried out by Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri and also as a person who fears God Almighty, of course asking for guidance from God Almighty because what we are looking for is a person who is able to be responsible to more than 270 million Indonesian people," added Hasto.
