Babiambo Business Owner Apologizes, People Are Asked Not To Be Confused About Nasi Padang Babi

JAKARTA - Sergio, the owner of the Babiambo business, Nasi Padang made from pork, apologized for causing a commotion on social media.

"I personally represent the previous brand called Babiambo which has been operating for several months. I want to apologize profusely. For my friends or relatives who may feel offended," said Sergio at the Kelapa Gading Police, North Jakarta, Friday, June 10.

Sergio stated that he did not intend to harass or hurt the public's feelings regarding pork combined with Padang cuisine. According to him, he is just purely a business.

"Maybe I meant to be harassing, but absolutely not. This is pure (pure) only I tried to try," he said.

Previously, a restaurant called Babiambo was busy on social media. The owner also promotes through an online delivery platform where various non-halal Minang dishes are clearly displayed, grilled pork rice, pork rendang rice, pork curry, babiambo rice rames and other menus.

"Even in the statement on Babiambo's Instagram account, he proudly stated that it was the first non-halal desert food in Indonesia," said Guspardi in his statement to reporters, Friday, June 10.

According to the Legislator for the West Sumatra II electoral district, Nasi Padang with various menus is a culinary product from Minangkabau and is guaranteed to be a halal food. Guspardi was furious with the actions of the restaurant owner who brought Padang rice with pork on the menu. According to him, this should not be allowed and allowed.
