Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution Supports Korlantas Implementing ETLE With Mobile Camera

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution supports the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) Polri implementing mobile electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) using cellphone cameras in Medan City, North Sumatra.

"The ETLE program will later be collaborated to regulate parking so that the presence of ETLE mobile can provide benefits for the community," said Bobby Nasution, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 9.

Bobby said this after receiving the Dirgakkum Korlantas Polri Brigadier General Pol. Aan Suhanan and his staff to discuss the development of ETLE in Medan City.

According to the mayor, traffic compliance in this area is still low because there are still many motorists breaking through traffic lights and not understanding the signs.

Bobby Nasution then gave an example of stopping a red light for motorcycle riders. However, there were still many cars stopped at that place.

"Don't know and don't want to know, that's a very thin difference. For that, it needs to be given more understanding," he said.

The Medan City Government, said Bobby, has several surveillance cameras or CCTV so that in the future the cameras can be synchronized with the Korlantas Polri for traffic control.

"Some roads in Medan City have installed surveillance cameras. If it is necessary to connect to ETLE, please," said Bobby.

Dirgakum Korlantas Polri Brigadier General Aan Suhanan said that in the future his party will implement ETLE mobile in the city of Medan to support the development of a smart city.

"I hope that with this mobile ETLE, the community as road users can be more orderly and not violate traffic regulations. The application of this mobile ETLE provides benefits for local governments," he said.
