Minister Of Agriculture Syahrul Sets Rice Production Target To Reach 55.39 Million Tons In 2023
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agriculture targets the production of food or main national commodities for 2023.
The target covers 11 commodities, such as rice, corn, chili, coconut, and shallots.
Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo said that in 2023, the production target for rice commodities is 55.39 million tons.
Meanwhile, 23.21 million tons of corn, 0.55 million tons of soybeans, 1.71 million tons of shallots, 2.93 million tons of chili, and 45.45 thousand tons of garlic.
"Then 37.15 million tons of sugar cane, 810.95 thousand tons of coffee, 782.01 thousand tons of cocoa, 2.99 million tons of head, and 0.46 million tons of beef/buffalo", he said in a hearing with House of Representatives Commission IV, Thursday, June 2.
Syahrul said the agricultural sector growth was targeted at 4 to 4.2 percent in 2023.
"In addition to relying on the part of the program or activity that was previously planned and as a continuation of the program or activity in 2022", he explained.
He added that his party would implement the K3 program, namely increasing the availability of access and quality of food consumption.
Then there are also six priority programs, namely, value-added employment and investment in the real and industrial sectors.
This is in line with the steps to implement the main food for the people of Indonesia.
In addition, it also increases the added value and competitiveness of export-oriented agricultural products.
