Madiun Police Reveals 11 Cases During Pekat Semeru Operation 2022, Including Online Prostitution
MADIUN - The Madiun Resort Police (Polres), East Java, revealed 11 criminal cases from the Semeru 2022 Community Disease Operation (Pekat) which was held from 22-29 May, and arrested seven suspects.
"Of the 11 cases, there are two cases of prostitution whose mode is online or online and one case of pornography," said Head of the Public Relations Sub-Division of the Madiun Police, Insp. Jumadi, during a press conference at the Madiun Police Headquarters, Sunday, May 29 evening.
He detailed that the 11 cases consisted of three cases of violating the Health Law, one case of drug abuse, two cases of prostitution, one case of pornography, three cases of gambling, and one case of trafficking alcoholic beverages.
"A total of seven suspects have been arrested. They are currently undergoing further legal processes," he said, quoted by Antara.
Jumadi explained that in the case of prostitution, the number of suspects arrested reached as many as two people who acted as service providers. Perpetrators offer prostitution services through the MiChat application.

"In each transaction, the perpetrator gets a profit of around IDR 50,000 to IDR 300,000 from the service customer," he said.
Even though the concentrated operation has been completed, his party emphasized that the Madiun Police officers will continue as an effort to eradicate community diseases in Madiun Regency. This is in order to create a safe, conducive, and comfortable Madiun Regency.
"Operation Pekat Semeru 2022 was held in order to provide a sense of security and comfort for residents," he said.
