Winning The Monaco F1 GP, Sergio Perez: This Is A Big Day For Me And My Country
JAKARTA - Red Bull Racing's Sergio Perez won the Monaco Grand Prix F1 race, Sunday, May 29, local time. This is Perez's first win of the season.
Perez won the race by 'blowing' the Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz, who finished second. While Max Verstappen finished in third position.
"This is a dream come true, as an (F1) driver you dream of winning here. After winning in your own hometown, there is nothing special other than winning here," Perez said, quoted by Antara from the official F1 website.
"Trying not to make mistakes to keep Carlos at the back is not easy. This is a very big day for me and my country," continued the Mexican rider.
Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc had to swallow a bitter pill. Ferrari's strategic mistakes should make him fail to get on the podium.
The host racer only finished fourth. In fact, he has a golden opportunity to win at home after starting from pole position.
