Hotel Occupancy Rate In Biak Reaches 75 Percent, Ready To Contribute To PAD
PAPUA - The room occupancy rate of various hotels in Biak Numfor Regency, Papua, is starting to increase, which will contribute to the input of regional original income (PAD).
"We hope that the COVID-19 pandemic situation will end soon, thereby increasing the number of tourists staying at the hotel," said Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel Restaurant Association, Makka Arief, as quoted by Antara, Saturday, May 28.
He admitted, the major contribution of PAD revenue in the tourism sector was in the form of hotel room guest accommodation services.
"Currently around 60-75 percent of hotel room occupancy is fully occupied due to various organizational, government and community activities," said Makka.
Makka admitted that several hotels in Biak have been chosen as venues for various community organization activities, halal-bihalal religious events and government events.
"According to the market mechanism, the law of the economy increases when demand increases, the company's income will also increase," he said.
The hotels in Biak that are the choice of government activities, community organizations and professional organizations are the Swill Bell Cenderawasih, the Asana hotel, the Mapia hotel, the Arumbai hotel.
