Coordination Messes Up During Texas Shooting, Federal Police With Tactical Weapons Arrive But Are Barred From Advancing
JAKARTA - This is still about the sad story of the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas that killed more than 20 people. A story of chaotic coordination on the field.
Salvador Ramos, the shooter, entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde through a back door which he found open at 11.33 am local time. He started shooting from the 111 and 112 classrooms.
Two minutes later, three policemen came in through the same door as Ramos. Even at 12.03 WIB, there were 19 officers in the hallway.
But no one moved.
Agents from BORTAC, the Customs and Border Protection tactical unit, and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) arrived on the scene between noon and 12.15pm. But the local police asked them to wait and instead had agents help pull the children out of the windows.
In fact, the BORTAC Team is armed with tactical equipment, quoted from NBC News, Saturday, May 28.
Half an hour later, Team BORTAC chose to ignore orders on the ground. They said they couldn't wait any longer.
As we know, they were the ones who finally broke in and managed to kill the perpetrators.
