University Of Bengkulu Academics Values Legitimate Members Of The TNI/Police Until Civil Servants Become Acting Regional Heads
BENGKULU - University of Bengkulu academic Mirza Yasben assessed that there is no rule that prohibits members of the TNI/Polri or civil servants (PNS) from serving as acting (Pj) temporary regional heads.
Mirza conveyed this in the midst of the assumption that many people were unethical members of the TNI/Polri and civil servants sitting in the seats of Acting Regional Head.
"What is clear is that there is no provision that prohibits regional officials, including TNI, Polri, and civil servants from serving as regional caretaker heads, because he is still active and there are no restrictions," said Mirza in Bengkulu, Thursday, May 26.
According to him, regional heads are positions that are achieved through the political system, while the provisional appointment of acting regional heads from members or officers of the TNI/Polri is not prohibited by law.
Although the position of the regional head is a political position, the temporary appointment of regional heads is not through a political process but through a process of a central government authority.
However, he said, some democracy activists view that a serving TNI/Polri officer is considered to have power and command. "So it can't be revealed in the world of politics, but the appointment process is not included in the political process but the process of authority," he said.

Mirza stated that the selection of the Acting Regional Head from TNI/Polri officers was due to their high and solid attitude of nationalism, no elements of interest, and so on.
This is because the ideology of TNI/Polri officers is a national ideology, so it can build and create discipline.
"I see no problem with the police and TNI occupying positions like caretakers, even better because they are disciplined, have a national perspective, have a national ideology and we admit that the most solid, compact, and modern organizations are the TNI and Polri organizations," he said, as reported by Antara.
Regarding TNI/Polri officers or civil servants later having or carrying political content while serving as regional heads, according to him, this is another matter.
