ATAMBUA - It has been 20 years since Timor Leste separated itself from the Republic of Indonesia. Although separated, Indonesia and Timor Leste still maintain good bilateral relations. East Timorese often travel to Indonesian territory, and vice versa. This is because, there are families who have different nationalities. This makes the border gate between Indonesia and Timor Leste in Belu, NTT, look busy. Especially when the Indonesian government loosened the PPKM. However, the immigration authorities, in collaboration with other agencies, must ensure that Indonesian citizens who will enter Timor Leste, or vice versa, of East Timorese who will go to Indonesian territory, are in good health.
