Easy! Here's How To Delete Your Snapchat Account
JAKARTA - Not a few are planning to take a break from social media for some reason, and Snapchat may be one of the apps they want to leave behind.
There are many reasons why you might leave Snapchat, because you're concerned about privacy or you just want to cut down on the time you often spend scrolling through social media.
Fortunately, Snapchat accounts can be deleted if you wish, so you also delete any data, conversations, photos, or videos that were stored in the app and will no longer be available after deleting the account.
However, once you choose to delete an account, there will be a period of time before the account is actually deleted, during which the account will be in an inactive state.
Everything in your account will remain if you choose to sign in and reactivate it. After this period of time expires, your account will be permanently deleted, as will your account data.
Unfortunately, Snapchat doesn't allow you to delete accounts directly within the app. However, if you are a user on iOS, you can delete the account via the Snapchat app itself. Here's how to delete your account on a mobile device, as quoted from Slashgear, Monday, May 23.
1. Open the Snapchat app
2. Tap your profile icon in the upper left corner of the main screen.
3. Tap the settings icon, which looks like a gear, at the top right.
4. Scroll down to Support, and click I Need Help.
5. On the Support page, select My Account & Security and then Delete My Account.
6. Under the second section of the support wizard, click the account portal link.
7. On the next page, the username you used on Snapchat will be entered and you will need to enter a password. Then select Continue.
From there, your account will be deactivated for 30 days, after which your account will be completely deleted. However, you can log in again at any time within those 30 days to reactivate your profile.
