Firefighters Evacuated Elderly After Electrocuted At Home

JAKARTA - Unfortunately, an elderly man with the initials M (56) fell into the basement while repairing an electrical outlet. The victim fell after being electrocuted by a house on Jalan Swadaya Pos, Gang Damai, No. 107A, RT 007/004, Pulogebang Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta.

Residents who saw the incident thought the victim had died from electrocution. Especially when he fell, the victim's body did not move at all.

Residents reported the incident to the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. When the officers arrived at the location, the victim's body was finally evacuated by the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. rescue team.

Although the evacuation process was dramatic, the victim was eventually rescued and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Head of Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman said the victims were evacuated by the rescue team together with PMI officers.

Slowly, officers evacuated the elderly residents using tents equipped with oxygen and neck braces.

"After almost two hours, the victim was successfully evacuated and taken to the nearest hospital," he said, Monday, May 23.
