Ganjar Pranowo: If You Are In A Crowd And The Distance Is Short, I Suggest You Keep Wearing A Mask
JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo supports President Joko Widodo's policy of easing the obligation to wear masks in open spaces. However, Ganjar asked residents not to underestimate the COVID-19 virus, which has not yet disappeared.
"In an open space like this, I think it's okay. You don't have to wear a mask, it's okay," said Ganjar in a written statement, Wednesday, May 18.
Ganjar reminded the public to be able to read the situation and conditions. According to him, the public must be smart to protect themselves so that cases of COVID-19 do not rise again.
"Still, if in a crowd, outside the distance is too short, I suggest still wearing a mask. If the crowd is not large, I don't think wearing a mask is okay," said Ganjar.
On the other hand, Ganjar also said the spread of COVID-19 in Central Java was sloping. In 35 regions, there were no significant additions to COVID-19.
"With our experience of almost three years, we are self-aware. When should we protect ourselves. When we are a bit unwell, we immediately wear masks so that we can protect ourselves," explained Ganjar.
