It Turns Out That Ridwan Kamil Wants To Go To The Vatican, Invited By Pope Francis Because Of The English For Ulama Program
JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said Pope Fansiskus praised the West Java Provincial Government regarding the English For Ulama Program which is considered one of the ways or efforts for peaceful dialogue.
"It turned out to be very good in the international eye, so there was an invitation to go there", said Ridwan Kamil, Wednesday, May 18, quoted from Antara.
Ridwan Kamil said he made a working visit to Europe to meet investors from several countries.
He and West Java Provincial Government officials will leave for Europe on Wednesday.
One of Ridwan Kamil's agenda is to visit the Vatican, Italy, to meet Pope Francis this week.
Ridwan Kamil's visit to the Vatican became one of his agenda in Italy.
"I ask for permission to have a foreign service tomorrow, one of the agendas, I was received by Pope Francis at the Vatican", said Ridwan Kamil.
According to him, although he is only a governor, it is important to carry out peace dialogue, especially now that there are conflicts in several countries.
"Now it's urgent, Russia is at war with Ukraine, Israel is in a war with Palestine, right? Now, if we don't have a dialogue with each other, the world will not be peaceful", he said.
He assessed that the current war could actually be due to the absence of deliberation among the leaders.
And in the absence of dialogue, there is no way out of the conflict, he said,
"We prevent these things by diligently making friends, only at the level I represent West Java and Pope Francis represents the Catholic world", he said.
