Marc Marquez And Pol Espargaro Still Stumbling, Repsol Honda Boss Alberto Puig: This Was Definitely Not The Result We Expected

JAKARTA - Repsol Honda still cannot compete for the podium after seven 2022 MotoGP series. Repsol Honda's best achievement is placing Pol Espargaro on the third podium of the Qatar MotoGP, the opening series of the season.

After that, both Pol Espargaro and Marc Marquez, it was difficult to penetrate the competition in the front row. Let alone to be a champion, it is difficult to win the podium.

Most recently, at the French MotoGP, last weekend, Marc Marquez finished in sixth position. While Pol Espargaro is in 11th position.

"This is definitely not the result we hoped for or what we were aiming for," said Repsol Honda boss Alberto Puig, as reported by the official MotoGP website. "Of course, we aspire to achieve maximum results, that has always been our target."

"But the reality is that we are facing some problems. We are still looking at how we can reach our true potential. This weekend at Le Mans was not easy once again."

Puig emphasized that this result was also not what Marc Marquez wanted. According to him, the Spaniard should have been in a better position.

"This race is not a total disaster. But we have to look at the overall situation and this is not our real position and definitely not Marc's position," said Puig.

Furthermore, the 2022 MotoGP will be held at the Mugello Circuit, Italy. Last season, the Repsol Honda rider achieved unsatisfactory results. Puig doesn't want the same thing to happen again.
