Support The Indonesian Pencak Silat Team At The 2021 SEA Games, Prabowo Subianto: We Must Work Hard!
JAKARTA - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto watched the Pencak silat match and gave support to the Indonesian Pencak silat team at the 2021 SEA Games in Vietnam.
"Keep fighting Indonesian pencak silat. Pencak silat is a national culture. We have to work hard! Our goal is to bring Pencak silat to the Olympics," Prabowo said as quoted by Antara, Sunday.
On this occasion, Prabowo was not only present as the Minister of Defence, but he was also present as the General Chair of the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) as well as the President of the International Pencak Silat Federation (PERSILAT).
Prabowo's arrival at the SEA Games event aims to provide support and motivation to the athletes of the Indonesian national team. Moreover, previously, Indonesia had received an additional 2021 SEA Games gold medal from the sport of Pencak silat.

Two of Indonesia's mainstay female Pencak silat athletes, namely Riska Hermawan and Ririn Rinasih, managed to donate the first gold medal from the Pencak silat sport at the 2021 SEA Games after defeating the host pair Vietnam at Bac Tu Liem Stadium, Hanoi, Wednesday (11/5).
Riska and Ririn have paired up in the women's doubles event since 2016. These two athletes won their first SEA Games medal at the previous SEA Games in the form of a bronze medal.
Especially for the Vietnam SEA Games, the two have been preparing for the national training camp since January 2022.
