Surakarta City Government Preserves Culture Through Keris Exhibition
SOLO - The Surakarta City Government, Central Java, is trying to preserve culture through exhibitions and a keris bazaar at the Surakarta City DPRD building.
Deputy Mayor of Surakarta Teguh Prakosa said the activity was part of the preservation of the keris as one of the cultural heritages that had been approved by UNESCO.
According to him, preserving culture is a form of love for the Republic of Indonesia.
"Love for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is not only spoken with words, but we prove it by preserving culture, including today we display kris as a form of cultural preservation," he said, quoted by Antara, Saturday, May 14.
He also hopes that through this activity the community will not forget the cultural heritage of their ancestors.
"Moreover, the keris has been approved by UNESCO so that it is the obligation of the younger generation to preserve culture," he said.
Meanwhile, the Keris Exhibition and Bazaar was organized by the Nunggak Semi Association in collaboration with the Surakarta City DPRD.
The exhibition featured 106 kris. This activity also facilitates the general public who want to enter the keris trading market at the Surakarta City DPRD.
