Cirebon Fishermen Find A Chest Containing Mortar Bomb In Indramayu Waters

CIREBON - Cirebon City Police Chief, West Java, Grand Commissioner Adjutant of Police Fahri Siregar, said his party received reports from three Cirebon fishermen who found a chest containing a mortar bomb while catching fish in the waters of Indramayu.

"Those who found the mortar bomb were three fishermen from Cirebon Regency," said Grand Commissioner Adjutant of Police Fahri in Cirebon, Friday, May 13.

Fahri said the three fishermen found a mortar bomb chest in the waters of Indramayu Regency, West Java, while they were lifting fishing nets.

Next, the chest was brought to Cirebon. They then informed the findings to Village Advisory Officer (Babinsa) and Bhayangkara Community Security and Order Trustees (Babinkamtibmas).

After checking, said Fahri, the chest contained a rusty mortar bomb and the number could not be counted with certainty.

"The number can not be calculated with certainty because the condition is rusty," he said.

Fahri said that one mortar bomb chest was found by fishermen, on Tuesday, May 10, in Dadap waters, Juntinyuat District, Indramayu Regency.

Fahri added that the fishermen also had time to let their findings go before being reported to the officers.

"The chest was kept at the dock before they finally reported the discovery to us," he said.
