East Nusa Tenggara Police Chief Asks All Police Chiefs To Monitor Bulk Cooking Oil Sales
JAKARTA - East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief Inspector General Police Setyo Budiyanto ordered all his members through the Resort Police to monitor the distribution of bulk cooking oil so that the price corresponds to the highest retail price (HET).
"I emphasize to the Heads of Police and the Food Task Force in the regions to monitor the distribution of bulk cooking oil to markets so that no one sells it at a price above the HET price of IDR 14.000 per liter and IDR 15.500 per kilogram," he said in Kupang, Thursday, May 12.
The Regional Police Chief said that this was related to the distribution of 300 tons of bulk cooking oil to meet the needs of the people on the mainland of the island of Timor, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
The bulk cooking oil was just unloaded from the Tenau port on Tuesday, May 10, and began to be distributed to the public in markets on Wednesday, May 11.
The hundreds of tons of bulk cooking oil for NTT were due to the synergy between the SOE Food Holding ID FOOD and the Ministry of Transportation, the National Food Agency, PTPN Group, Pos Indonesia and BRI.
The 300 tons of bulk cooking oil is reserved for the general public as well as business actors and SMEs in Kupang City and its surroundings.
The process of distributing the two basic needs, he said, involved the association of market traders and cooperatives through the Holding subsidiary, PT Indonesia Trading Company and Rajawali Nusindo.
The NTT Police Chief hopes that no one will take advantage of this momentum by selling bulk cooking oil that is not in accordance with the HET, so it will not be a problem.

"We hope that no one takes advantage of it so that traders understand and adjust prices and will not make price changes," he added.
However, he said, if there are deviations, his party will take firm action, but will go through a process first, such as warnings and others.
The public is also expected to be able to report to the food task force or local police if they find anyone selling bulk oil above the HET price.
