Terence Crawford Calls Himself The Best After Canelo Beat Bivol

JAKARTA - After Canelo Alvarez's shock loss to Dmitry Bivol, Terence Crawford wasted no time in claiming the status of the best cross-division boxer.

Canelo was beaten by Bivol in a narrow unanimous decision in the race for the WBA Light Heavyweight Championship. Bivol proved too strong and skilled for Mexican superstar Canelo.

With this result, Canelo's unbeaten run ended. In contrast, Bivol increased his unbeaten run to 20-0 while showing why he is considered the best fighter in the 175 pound heavyweight.

Meanwhile, Terence Crawford is currently ranked third in Ring Magazine's cross-division rankings. The American boxer was behind Canelo and Oleksandr Usyk.

However, Crawford's position in the rankings could change as a result of Canelo's loss.

To be considered the best, Crawford might need a world-class win in his next fight. Previously, he had beaten some of the top fighters in his career, including Kell Brook, Shawn Porter, and Amir Khan.

However, Crawford has yet to beat other top-division cross boxers. However, after Canelo was beaten by Bivol, Crawford confidently appeared on Twitter and wrote: "We know who the No.1 is now."

Errol Spence Jr., who just beat Yordenis Ugas to unify the WBC, IBF, and WBA welterweight titles, could be an ideal opponent. Spence vs Crawford will determine who is the most prolific fighter at 147 pounds.

On the other hand, if Usyk beats Anthony Joshua in their rematch and becomes the undisputed heavyweight, he could become the No. 1 world.

With Tyson Fury rumored to be retiring, the Ukrainian has a good chance of becoming undisputed in the two heavyweights.

The outcome of a potential rematch between Canelo and Bivol is another factor to consider. If Canelo can avenge his defeat, he will most likely be considered the best fighter in the world.
