The Damaged KM Bina Karya On Reclamation Island Has Been Withdrawn, 140 Thousand Islands Tourists Are Now Waiting For A Replacement Ship
JAKARTA - Officers evacuated the Bina Karya Motor Ship carrying 140 tourists to Pramuka Island in the Thousand Islands to return to Kali Adem Pier, North Jakarta, because it was damaged.
"The Bina Karya motor boat was evacuated and towed back to Kali Adem Pier using a work boat belonging to the DKI Transportation Agency," said the Head of the Sunda Kelapa Police, Police Commissioner Seto Handoko, in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 4.
The damage to the ship occurred around 09.30 WIB. At that time the ship was sailing to Pramuka Island in the Thousand Islands.
The ship just arrived around the reclamation island, namely Pulau G.
The ship, which suffered a rudder damage, was then assisted by the DKI Transportation Service Ship to be towed to the original dock, namely the Kali Adem Pier.
"For now, passengers are still waiting for a replacement ship to return to Pramuka Island," said Seto.
He explained that the ship owner has prepared two replacement ships, namely KM Giant and KM Pesona Alam.
"For departure, we are still waiting between the two alternative ships that have been prepared, which ship docks first to carry passengers from KM Bina Karya," he said.
To anticipate the density of passengers as a result of the incident, his party carried out supervision so that the shipping situation to Pulau Seribu remained conducive.
"Increasing people who will travel to Pulau Seribu, the Sunda Kelapa Regional Police continue to monitor so that the situation remains conducive," said Seto.
