Asman Abnur And Guspardi Gaus Migration Rumored To NasDem, PAN Denies: Cadres All Over The Archipelago Are OK

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of PAN, Viva Yoga Mauladi, straightened the news regarding the transfer of DPR members from PAN Asman Abnur and Guspardi Gaus to the NasDem Party.

The PAN spokesman emphasized that the issue was not true or a hoax. Instead, said Viva, Asman Abnur is currently focusing on preparing for the 2024 General Election.

"The rumors are not true, aka hoaxes. PAN, Bang Zulkifli Hasan, Pak Asman Abnur, and all cadres throughout the archipelago are fine. We are busy and focused on preparing verification of political parties and PAN is ready to welcome the 2024 election victory," said Viva to VOI, Wednesday, April 27.

In fact, said Viva, the information was obtained from the person concerned. "Yesterday I directly communicated with Pak Asman Abnur and also Pak Guspardi Gaus, asking about the rumors. They said they were in unison, the news was a hoax," said Viva.

Viva stated that until now Asman Abnur is still the Deputy Chairperson of the PAN DPP. "And there is a special assignment from the General Chair, Bang Zul, to foster the Riau Archipelago PAN (Kepri) so that it can increase the number of votes and PAN seats in the 2024 election," he explained.

"And Guspardi Gaus got an assignment in Commission II of the DPR RI and fostered the West Sumatra PAN," added Viva.

It was previously reported that a number of cadres of the National Mandate Party (PAN) sitting in Parliament were rumored to have migrated to the National Democratic Party (NasDem). Like Asman Abnur and Guspardi Gaus.

Esa Unggul University political observer Jamiluddin Ritonga assessed that the news of the transfer of members of the DPR from PAN to the NasDem party was not surprising. The reason is that the chances of PAN entering Senayan in the 2024 Pilleg are relatively small.

Jamiluddin said the survey results from credible survey institutions showed PAN's electability was below four percent. This electability makes PAN's chances of surviving in Senayan very small.

"Therefore, it is natural that PAN cadres who have the potential to gain a large number of votes will leave their party. They will waste a large number of votes but cannot become members of the DPR RI if their party's electoral votes are not sufficiently entered in Senayan," said Jamiluddin in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 26.

"For that, they will look for parties that are open to cadres of fleas. The party they are looking for is certainly the one that can fulfill their wishes," he continued.

Jamiluddin considered that NasDem was a party that met these criteria. This is because the party created by Surya Paloh is very open to human resources who have the opportunity to get a big vote and be elected to the DPR RI.

"For human resources like this, NasDem even wants to pay for all the needs of the candidate until he is elected as a member of the council," he said.

In addition, said Jamiluddin, NasDem also did not impose a dowry on its candidates. This applies to all cadres, both old and new.

"That seems to be the reason why PAN cadres move to NasDem. Those with potential will have the convenience of becoming candidates for NasDem," he said.
