Government Urges Early Departure To Use The Pantura And Pansela Routes
JAKARTA - The government through the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (PMK) appealed to people who use private vehicles to travel home early. Homecomers are asked to use the Java North Coast route (Pantura) and the Java South Coast route (Pansela).
This came to light during a review by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, accompanied by Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, at the Km 57 Rest Area of the Jakarta - Cikampek Toll Road, Karawang Regency, Tuesday, April 26.
Coordinating Minister Muhadjir said that traffic management is one of the government's efforts to make the homecoming event a success this year.
"The public's enthusiasm for going home is very high, it is even predicted to exceed the number of homecomers in 2019 before the pandemic," he said, quoted by Antara.
Muhadjir predicts that the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road will experience congestion on the peak day of going home, namely on D-4 (28 April 2022).
Meanwhile, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya explained that in the last few days the movement in Jabodetabek had increased by 5 percent and those to the east (West Java, Central Java and East Java) had increased by around 11 percent.
"We appreciate the people who have followed the government's recommendation to go home early," said the Minister of Transportation.
The Minister of Transportation explained that to control traffic movement, 4 (schematics) of traffic engineering have been prepared, namely: contra flow, one way, odd-even, and restrictions on three-axis trucks.
"Odd-even and one-way traffic engineering will be implemented from April 28 to 30, 2022. For this reason, those who want to go home to Central Java and East Java should go home as soon as possible so they don't burden the road on peak days," he explained.
Meanwhile, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo appealed to the public to use several alternative routes other than toll roads.
His party, has prepared a number of service posts at a number of points that can be used by the community to rest for a while.
"We will implement a number of traffic engineering, but we still urge people to go home early to avoid overcrowding on peak days," he said.
Furthermore, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that the public could use the southern route of Java, passing through Subang, Garut, Pangandaran, Sukabumi, to Pacitan.
"The road conditions are good and instagramable," he said.
