Banten SAR Office Prepares Rescue Team For Eruption Of Anak Krakatau

LEBAK - The Banten Province SAR Office has prepared a SAR Rescue Team to deal with the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau in the Sunda Strait waters.

"We have alerted the SAR Rescue Team for 24 hours in connection with the increasing eruption activity of Mount Anak Krakatau (GAK) and the status is Alert Level III", said the Public Relations Officer of the Banten SAR Office, Wahyu when contacted in Lebak, Tuesday, March 26.

The Banten SAR Rescue Team has the competence and skills to carry out rescue evacuations in the waters because they have been trained.

If a disaster occurs due to the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau, he said, the SAR Rescue Team will quickly move to carry out rescue evacuations.

"We are on full alert and ready to jump in if needed", he said.

He said the SAR Rescue Team was equipped with the KN SAR Tetuka 247 ship equipment with the sophistication and advantages of being able to find victims by only providing coordinates.

The ship with a speed of up to 29 knots is equipped with all-digital equipment, he explained.

The KN SAR Tetuka ship is equipped with diving equipment, a "speedboat" on board, motorboat equipment, and communication tools.

Currently, the SAR Rescue Team is still operating to monitor the waters of the Sunda Strait. "We and the team always take turns and are ready to face the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau", he said.
