Involved In Corruption Rp8.6 Billion State Loss, Former Acting Regent Of West Seram Sentenced To 2 Years In Prison
AMBON - The judges of the Corruption Court at the Ambon District Court sentenced Ujir Halid, former Plt. West Seram Regent (SBB), in the 2016 SBB Secretariat budget corruption case that cost the state Rp. 8.6 billion.
"Sentencing the defendant to 2 years in prison for violating Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20/2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code," said the panel of judges chaired by Jenny Tulak accompanied by two member judges. in Ambon, Antara, Tuesday, April 26.
The defendant was also sentenced to pay a fine of Rp. 100 million, subsidiary of 3 months in prison and replacement money of Rp. 520 million, taking into account the deposit of Rp. 250 million and subsidiary of 1 year in prison.
The panel of judges also sentenced the defendant to 2 years in prison, Mansur Tuharea as the former Secretary of the SBB Regency because he was proven to have violated Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
Mansur Tuharea was also sentenced to pay a fine of Rp. 100 million, subsidiary to 3 months in prison and was not sentenced to pay replacement money.
Three other defendants who were jointly involved in the corruption case in the management of the SBB Regency Secretariat's budget in the 2016 fiscal year were Abraham Niak, Rafael Tamu, and Adam Pattisahusiwa. They were proven to have violated the same article as the defendants Ujir Halid and Mansur Tuharea.
Abraham Niak was sentenced to 2.4 years in prison and a fine of IDR 100 million subsidiary to 3 months in prison. Rafael Tamu for 6 years in prison and a fine of 100 million subsidiary 3 months in prison and pay a replacement money of Rp7,641 billion subsidiary 2.5 years in prison.
Adam Pattisahusiwa was sentenced to 5 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 100 million, subsidiary to 3 months in prison and to pay compensation of Rp. 353.3 million, subsidiary to 2 years in prison.
On the decision of the panel of judges, both the public prosecutor team and the defendants through their legal advisors, are still expressing their thoughts. The panel of judges gave the opportunity for 7 days to state their position.
In the previous trial, Mansur Tuharea was charged with 2.5 years in prison, Ujir Halid for 3.5 years, Adam Pattisahusiwa for 6 years, the defendant Refael Tamu for 7 years, a fine of Rp. 3.5 years in prison, and Abraham Niak for 2.5 years in prison.
