Pertamina Gas Subholding Supports Balkonjazz Festival At PGNs Village Economic Center

JAKARTA - PT PGN Tbk, as Subholding Gas of PT Pertamina (Persero), supports the music and MSME festival, the Balkonjazz Festival in the Gasblock Village Economic Center (Balkondes) area of PGN Karangrejo, Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java, Saturday, May 14.

PGN Corporate Secretary Rachmat Hutama in a statement in Jakarta, Sunday, April 24, hopes that the festival will support government programs to accelerate community economic recovery, the tourism industry, creative entertainment, national vaccination campaigns, as well as start activities during endemic times.

"This Balkonjazz Festival is part of the implementation of Pertamina Group's ESG commitment to develop an independent and environmentally friendly community economy, as well as support government programs in developing the Borobudur super priority tourism destination," he said as quoted by Antara.

With the tagline "Energy That Heels", the Balkonjazz Festival will combine a music festival and MSME products which will be held in the PGN Karangrejo Village Economic Center (Balkondes) area.

Several national artists are scheduled to perform, including Kahitna, Pamungkas, Rendy Pandugo, Adhitia Sofyan, Dere, Juicy Luicy, Raissa Anggiani, Coldiac, and Megantoro. This performance is expected to be a trigger in promoting local economic potential, especially around the Balkondes PGN Karangrejo by growing the local economy.

"The promoter also presents the Balcony Market as an identity that has been attached to the Balkonjazz Festival. This market is specifically designed and managed to sell all local community products," added Rachmat.

Experience at Balkonjazz 2019 has proven that Balcony Market is able to improve the economy of the surrounding community. Testimonials from the organizers of the 2019 Balcony Market have also shown a positive trend with almost all products sold out on the day of Balkonjazz.

He believes that by continuing to put creativity and innovation, he will be able to make a real contribution to the development and economic growth of the community.

Rachmat added that recently, PGN inaugurated a Gasblock in the Balkondes area of PGN Karangrejo.

"Gasblock is the latest icon from the PGN Karangrejo Balkondes as a manifestation of energy interaction and collaboration, both environmentally friendly natural gas, and the PGN Energy Village which is unique, beautiful, and rich in Indonesian culture," he said.

Gasblock can be a tourist destination that combines the beautiful stretch of rice fields under the Menoreh hill with a classy restaurant in the middle of the rice fields near Borobudur Temple.

Wisata Gasblock added several new facilities to increase comfort and attract tourists, as well as presenting views of the rice fields that visitors can enjoy while taking selfies.
