JAKARTA - Manchester United have confirmed that their star player, Cristiano Ronaldo will not take part in the match against Liverpool in the 2021/2022 Premier League continuation week on Wednesday morning WIB.

Through an official club statement, the Red Devils took the decision because they understood the situation of Ronaldo who was grieving because his newborn son died. According to the club, moments like this are needed by Ronaldo to be closer to his family.

"Manchester United has confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo will not play against Liverpool tonight," read a club statement.

"Family is more important than anything and Ronaldo is supporting his loved ones at this very difficult time," the statement continued.

This situation clearly made Ralf Rangnick as the coach have to redesign the strategy in his team.

Regarding the replacement for CR7 Rangnick seems to be relying on Marcus Rashford. In addition, there is an option that the coach can put Bruno Fernandes as a false nine. Rashford or Fernandes can be accompanied by Anthony Elanga and Jadon Sancho.

Previously, Ronaldo uploaded a post that informed him that he and his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, were grieving because their son could not be saved.

However, Ronaldo and Georgina are still grateful that their daughter is safe and healthy.
