Reunited At Coachella 2022, It Was Revealed That CL Who Initiated 2NE1 Appearance

JAKARTA - K-pop group 2NE1 reunited on the Coachella stage on Saturday, April 16, United States time. This reunion occurred when CL became one of the performers in the Head in the Clouds Forever section.

CL, who was just singing her solo song, suddenly brought her three friends: Park Bom, Sandara Park, and Minzy. The four of them sang I AM THE BEST, one of 2NE1's popular songs.

This surprise appearance became their first reunion after performing at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2015. At that time, they also surprised fans before disbanding in 2016.

Citing Newsen on Monday, April 18, this reunion was initiated by the leader, CL. She knows that many fans miss 2NE1 performing together.

“When CL was invited to Coachella, we prepared a surprise for many fans who wanted to see 2NE1. CL also wants to appear with the members so that the Coachella stage is prepared," said CL.

It is not yet known whether this is a sign that 2NE1 will officially reunite since disbanding in 2016. Currently, Minzy has terminated her contract with YG Entertainment and the agency has decided to disband the group.

“I am grateful to have lived a long life watching the things I create develop. Through this stage, I want to say hello to everyone who is with us and I thank those who have loved 2NE1 for 12 years," CL wrote on SNS on the same day.

“Today is an important day and means a lot to me more than anyone. With this moment, I hope the feelings we had in the past will come back to life."

2NE1 is a K-pop group that debuted in 2009 and produced hits such as Fire, I Don't Care, It Hurts, Lonely, I Miss You, Come Back Home, and many others.
