"According to the Immigration Law, foreigners who disturb security and public order can be threatened with deportation," said Head of the Labuan Bajo Immigration Information Technology, Intelligence and Enforcement Subsection, Christian Pratingo, as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, April 9.
He conveyed this when receiving a visit from the Komodo National Park Office to discuss immigration rules regarding foreigners who carry out actions that disrupt public order.
One of the things discussed was related to the case of local tourists who set off fireworks on Kalong Island which was included in the Komodo National Park conservation area at the end of March.
Christian added that foreigners who disturb public order can be dealt with in accordance with Article 75 of Law no. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. The Komodo National Park Office also admitted that so far there have been no reports or findings that foreigners violated immigration laws in this super priority tourist area.
"They came just to coordinate with us to get an explanation of the rules and related penalties that can be given to tourists who are foreign nationals if they commit these violations," he said.
Head of the Labuan Bajo Immigration Office, Mahendra Jaya, stated that his party had to work together to maintain security and public order in the tourist area.
