Defeated, Shesar Failed To Follow Jojo To The Semifinals Of The Korea Open 2022

JAKARTA – Men's singles Shesar Hiren Rhustavito ran aground in the quarter-finals of the Korea Open 2022. He failed to reach the semifinals after losing to Danish representative Victor Svendsen.

Shesar lost in straight sets 14-21, 12-21 against Svendsen at Palma Stadium, Suncheon, South Korea, Friday, April 8 afternoon. He became the second representative of Indonesia to be eliminated in the top eight.

At the beginning of the first set, Shesar appeared in a fairly tight game. He and his opponent split the first six points fairly, but after that the situation turned around.

After trailing 6-11 at the interval, Shesar struggled to put up a fight. He continued to fall behind despite having managed to get three points in a row after the break.

In the second set, Shesar, who was left behind by the first two points, identified the score to 3-3. However, he lost five straight points after that and began to struggle to close the seven-point gap at half-time.

Previously, the Adnan Maulana/Mychelle Crhystine Bandoso mixed doubles had already failed to penetrate the semifinals. Their steps stopped after losing to the pair Ko Sung Hyun / Eom Hye Won.

Meanwhile, two other Indonesian representatives have made it through to the semifinals of the four representatives who have already fought. The two semifinal tickets were obtained by Jonatan Christie and mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldy / Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.

Jonathan reached the semifinals after a dramatic win over Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn. As for Rinov / Pitha to the top four after defeating the Japanese pair Hiroki Midorikawa / Natsu Saito.
