BANDUNG - The Transportation Service (Dishub) of West Java (Jabar) Province has made preparations to monitor the homecoming route on April 4-5 2022. The result is a mapping of congestion points on the Lebaran 2022 homecoming route.
Head of the West Java Provincial Transportation Agency, A Koswara Hanafi, explained that the congestion points for the homecoming route in West Java include Cileunyi, Bandung Regency, Cagak Nagrek Street, Bandung Regency, Malangbong Region, Garut Regency, and Lingkar Gentong.
According to him, bottlenecks, spilled market activities, and crossing roads are still the main problems that cause congestion and congestion, so it is necessary to formulate a more intensive handling strategy.
"The crucial points in locations prone to traffic jams were also discussed in full. Then alternative routes that are dangerous, we will inform the public so that they are known and regulated in the field for the safety of homecomers," he said.
He explained that the Cileunyi Toll Gate area is one of the points of concern in every homecoming season.
The West Java Provincial Transportation Agency is coordinating with PT Jasa Marga to anticipate congestion at the Cileunyi Toll Gate by preparing the Gedebage KM 149 toll road exit as a solution to reduce the density at the exit of the Cileunyi toll road.
In addition, he also mentioned that there are still few gates that are operated on the Cileunyi Toll Road which is currently considered not sufficient enough to serve vehicles that pass when going home later.
The reason is that the volume of vehicles is predicted to be much higher than two years ago. "In the field, several problems were found that must be coordinated and emphasized by the organizers of Lebaran transportation," he said
