Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Concrete Road Barrier In Mampang, South Jakarta

JAKARTA - A motorcyclist with the initials ATJ (34) died after experiencing a single accident on Jalan Underpass Mampang Kuningan, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta.

South Jakarta Police Head of Laka, AKP Sigit Krisgiantoro said the incident occurred on Wednesday, April 6, noon. The victim was rushed to the Mampang Prapatan Hospital. However, unfortunately his life could not be saved.

“(The victim) suffered a cut on his left cheek, bleeding from his left ear, broken left arm, unconscious. The victim was taken to the Mampang Prapatan Hospital and died at the Mampang Prapatan Hospital, South Jakarta," Sigit said when confirmed, Wednesday, April 6.

Sigit said the incident began when the victim was driving from north to south on Jalan Raya Underpass Mampang Kuningan, Mampang Prapatan area, South Jakarta. It is suspected that the lack of concentration caused the AJT to hit the concrete barrier of the road.

"Precisely at the Mampang Kuningan underpass, it is suspected that he was not careful and concentrated so that the motorcyclist lost control, then swerved to the right and hit the concrete barrier on the right side of the road," he said.
