Lawyer Adam Deni Submits Information On Alleged Corruption To KPK
JAKARTA - The attorney for social media activist Adam Deni, Herwanto, has submitted information on alleged criminal acts known to his client to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The handover took place today, Tuesday, April 5th.
"Our arrival here is not to report but to provide information on alleged corruption crimes," Herwanto told reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.
He said that the submission of this information was a form of defense that had actually been presented by Adam Deni at the previous trial.
"We actually don't want to go head to head with our opponent, no. But, like it or not, we have to convey information about this alleged corruption crime because it is related to the defense of our client," said Herwanto.
Furthermore, Herwanto was reluctant to elaborate on any information on alleged corruption that was submitted to the KPK. Because, Adam should have done the delivery himself.
However, the information has not yet been conveyed, it turns out that his client had already been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. So, according to Adam Deni's message, information on allegations of corruption was finally conveyed by Herwanto.
"Yesterday he said that my struggle would be continued by his attorney. So, I asked for a power of attorney to our client to convey information to the KPK," he said.
"If friends (media, ed) want to know in detail what documents we have brought and we will give to the KPK tomorrow, the defendant will immediately explain in detail. They have an obligation to explain in detail what documents were given to the KPK," added Herwanto.
As previously reported, Adam Deni is a defendant in a case of alleged violation of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE). Adam and the other defendant, Ni Made Dwita Anggari, were charged with intentionally uploading a personal document without the permission of the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI, Ahmad Sahroni.
The document was uploaded to the Instagram account @adamdenigrk. The contents are in the form of bicycle purchase data that is worth hundreds of millions of rupiah.
