Hary Tanoe Announces Berkarya Party Joins Non-Parliamentary Party Coalition
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo) Hary Tanoesoedibjo announced that the Berkarya Party has officially joined the Non-parliamentary Party Coalition.
"The Berkarya Party has agreed to join the Non-parliamentary Party Coalition," said Perindo Party Chairman Hary Tanoesoedibjo in his statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 5.
He said that in the 2019 election, the Berkarya Party ranked second after the Perindo Party for non-parliamentary parties, with more than 2.9 million votes or equal to 2.09 percent of the voters.
"We have also agreed to jointly submit a judicial review to the Constitutional Court so that the presidential threshold is approved to be zero percent. Congratulations on joining the Berkarya Party. Thank you, Mr. Muchdi," said Hary.
The Chairperson of the Perindo Party, Hary Tanoesoedibjo, initiated the meeting which became the forerunner of the Coalition of Non-parliamentary Political Parties. The Perindo Party is the political party that won the largest number of votes out of all non-parliamentary political parties in the 2019 general election.
Now, said Hary, there are seven parties that have joined the Non-parliamentary Political Party Coalition, namely the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo), the Berkarya Party, the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), the People's Conscience Party (Hanura), the Indonesian Justice and Unity Party (PKP), The Crescent Star Party (PBB), and the Garuda Party.
The total non-parliamentary political party coalition represented 13.6 million votes in the 2019 election. In details, the Perindo Party reached 3.7 million, the Berkarya Party 2.9 million votes, PSI 2.6 million votes, Hanura Party 2.1 million votes, PBB 1 million votes, Garuda Party 700 thousand votes, and PKP 300 thousand votes.
According to him, at the meeting of the Coalition of Non-parliamentary Political Parties on February 23, 2022 at the Plataran Menteng Restaurant, Jakarta, it was decided to discuss becoming a coalition for the 2024 presidential candidacy contest.
