Conjuring Bulk Cooking Oil Into Packaging Women In Mura, South Kalimantan Arrested, Threatened With 4 Years In Prison And IDR 10 Billion Fine
CENTRAL KALIMANTAN - A woman with the initials H (32) a resident of Murung Raya (Mura) Regency, Central Kalimantan, was arrested by the local police for carrying out an illegal activity, namely converting bulk cooking oil into packaging.
This action was taken by H in order to get more profit by taking advantage of the current high price of cooking oil. This was conveyed by the Head of the Murung Raya Police AKBP I Gede Putu Widyana in Puruk Cahu, Friday, April 1.
"He has been named a suspect. For evidence, 2,678 liters of bulk cooking oil or 2.6 tons have been secured in several packages," he said as quoted by Antara.
The police revealed the case started from the information submitted by the public. Against this information, the police conducted an investigation to ensure the truth. The police then arrested suspect H and at the same time secured evidence of cooking oil on March 30, 2022 on Jalan Colonel Untung Surapati Puruk Cahu.
The Head of the Resort Police, accompanied by the Head of the UKM Disperindag, Murung Raya Nyarutono Tunjan and the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Murung Raya Police, AKP Deni Langie, said the bulk cooking oil was packaged and labeled with the brand 'Toko Surya Mas Cooking Oil Kunci Mas' and sold at a price of Rp. 26 thousand per liter.
"The bulk cooking oil should have been sold at a maximum price of Rp. 17,000/liter. But, in fact, the suspect sold Rp. 26 thousand/liter," he said.
From the results of the examination of suspect H, the Police Chief also said that the act of converting bulk cooking oil into packaging had been carried out since February 2022 and was sold from house to house.
"The repackaged bulk cooking oil is sold to the community around Puruk Cahu City, which has reached approximately 40 liters with a profit of approximately Rp. 200 thousand," added the Police Chief.
As for the origin of bulk cooking oil, H bought it from Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, and to convince buyers, the suspect named the product from a well-known brand.
For this action, the Police Chief said that suspect H was subject to articles on trade, industry and consumer protection with a maximum penalty of four years and a maximum fine of Rp. 10 billion.
