Olivia Nathania Fraud Victim Shouts Takbir Then Fainted When Hears Judge's Verdict

JAKARTA - One of the victims of the recruitment fraud for Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) fainted when he heard the three-year sentence for the defendant Olivia Nathania at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday, March 28.

The woman in the blue dress, whose name is not known, shouted Takbir and then fainted in the courtroom when the judge read out the verdict to Olivia. Suddenly the trial participants who were present immediately lifted the woman and laid her on a bench in the room.

The woman who fainted immediately screamed as she called the legal team. "Where is the legal representative? Who received the compensation? I have already conveyed it. No one has received compensation," said the woman.

The woman protested because her attorney had said that Olivia's attorney had returned the compensation money for the fraud to all victims. Yet many have not received compensation.

Olivia's attorney, who previously wanted to give a statement to the media crew, immediately left because the courtroom situation was not conducive. After Olivia's legal team left the courtroom, the woman also left the courtroom crying hysterically.

"I represent the victim's family. I only think about the victim's family," she said, as quoted from ANTARA.

Olivia Nathania was sentenced to three years in prison by a judge based on Article 378 in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code on fraud.

"Imposing a three-year prison sentence, stipulating that the defendant remains in custody, stipulating that the 23rd number one evidence is returned to the public prosecutor for another case," said the panel of judges in the trial with the agenda of reading the verdict at the South Jakarta (South Jakarta) District Court.

The judge handed down the verdict with several considerations. "The defendant's actions resulted in distrust of civil servants, the victims suffered a total loss of hundreds of millions. The defendant honestly confessed and regretted her actions," said the judge.

Responding to the verdict, Olivia admitted that she would consider the judge's decision together with her attorney. Previously, the Metro Jaya Police named Olivia Nathania as a suspect in the fictitious CPNS recruitment case on November 11, 2021.

The status of the suspect is determined after going through a case title. The police found criminal elements and were equipped with sufficient evidence. The police immediately detained her on the same day after Olivia Nathania named as a suspect.
