TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa Ready To Assign Soldiers To Help The BNPT Prevention And Synergy Task Force
JAKARTA - The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa said that his party was ready to assign soldiers to assist the Prevention and Synergy Task Force (Satgas) formed by the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) to prevent acts of terror in Indonesia.
Andika told Police Commissioner General Boy Rafli Amar that the assignment was a form of TNI support for BNPT.
In a meeting between the TNI Commander and the Head of BNPT, which was broadcast on the Youtube channel of General TNI Andika Perkasa in Jakarta, Sunday, the two parties discussed the technical assignment.
Boy explained that soldiers assigned to be members of the BNPT Prevention and Synergy Task Force would have BKO status. Later, the contract can be extended every year.
The Commander said the soldiers who were assigned later had a number of special criteria that could help the BNPT work to prevent acts of terror.
"It means that (assigned soldiers) must be territorial (from the division), and the territory is there (assigned area), because if not from there, it's useless he doesn't control (the area)," Andika said to Boy Rafli as reported by Antara.
During the meeting, Boy conveyed that 60 percent—70 percent of BNPT's work was terrorism prevention, and related to taking action, BNPT's work was limited to investigations.
In order to carry out the investigation function, BNPT has formed a Prevention and Synergy Task Force in collaboration with 46 ministries/agencies as well as the TNI and Polri.
"The representation of the TNI is very large, especially in moving the sub-tasks that we have placed in five provinces," Boy Rafli said to Andika Perkasa.
